Summer Book Challenge: Week 2

Is it really already time for the second Semi-Charmed Summer 2012 Book Challenge check-in? Yikes. That means it's time for the very first scoreboard! Things were kind of hectic last week with people leaving their scores on different posts, so hopefully I got everyone. Starting today, please only leave your weekly check-in score in a comment on the corresponding check-in post to avoid confusion. If you think you checked in last week, and I don't have you, please leave a comment for both weeks. If you didn't check in last week or just joined the challenge, feel free to include all books you've read since May 1 on this check-in. Thanks. :)

Now, on to the scoreboard! We currently have two bloggers battling it out for first place:

  1. Erinn @ It's the Journey — 30
  2. Jen @ Grown in Southern Ground — 30
  3. Jessica B. @ Sweet Green Tangerine — 25
  4. Stacey @ Stacey's Daze — 25
  5. Sarah @ Books, Jeans, and Awesome — 25
  6. Megan S. @ Semi-Charmed Kind of Life (host) — 20

  12. Erin J. — 5
There were also several people who checked in to let me know they had started/were planning to start, but didn't have any points yet. Here's that list, just so they know I got their comment:
  1. Jennifer S. — 0
  2. Jenna M. @ Cannery Row Reads — 0
  3. Lindsay @ Lindsay in Progress — 0
  4. Jo @ In Which We Start Anew — 0

  6. Jessica P. @ Eternally Enlisted — 0
  7. Gabs R. @ Novel Ideas — 0
  8. Rebecca @ Garrulous and Bookish — 0
Also, if you want me to list a different blog next to your name (or if I didn't list your blog and you want me to add it), let me know! Now, for week two. Here's what I read this week:
10 points: Read a memoir or narrative nonfiction book. — The Devil in the White City, Erik Larson (396 pages, not including sources/bibliography)
PREVIOUS POINTS: 20
TOTAL POINTS: 30
I also went to the library to pick my third book from the left on the fourth shelf from the top, and I got so lucky; it was The Kite Runner! I've been wanting to read this book for forever and just never got around to it. And I swear, it really was the first shelf I went to! I tried an aisle I had never been in before, and bam. I almost feel guilty for getting such a good book, but hey, I didn't make the rules. Oh wait....

Just in case you didn't believe me: Here's proof!
Please update me on your progress in a comment on this post. If you forget to check in one week, no worries! Just catch yourself up on the next week's check-in.

P.S. — Don't forget to check out last week's check-in post for some rule clarifications. Good luck!
