Week in Review

Now that I'm back in the blogging swing of things, I've been brainstorming new ways to highlight my Internet activity. I used to do monthly recaps, but I think I'm going to experiment with a weekly format for now. These Saturday posts (I was traveling this weekend, hence the Monday post, but in the future I hope to post these every Saturday) will include some of my work that you liked that week, and some of your work that I particularly liked that week. I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions for improvement in the comments! Now, for my first attempt:

5. Summer 2013 Book Challenge: Month 1 (posted August 1)
4. Cityscape on Camera: Berlin, Germany (posted August 6)
3. The Book Chat: Let's Catch Up! (posted August 8)
2. Semi-Charmed Summer 2013 Book Challenge (posted June 24)
1. Advice Needed: Stylish Walking Shoes for Europe (posted March 13)

I'm not sure why such an old post was my #1 most-viewed post last week, but it's always fun to see old posts resurface! I also posted a recap of my participation in Fat Mum Slim's July photo-a-day challenge on Wednesday, in case you missed it.

5. "hunger games and uglies difference" (which probably took you here)
4. "stylish walking shoes"
3. "walking shoes for europe" (now the #1 post above makes sense...)
2. "semi charmed blog"
1. "semicharmed like blogspot"

I'd also like to give a special thank-you shout-out to these four blogs for directing significant traffic my way last week: Blair's Head BandCeiling Flickers, Daffodil's and The Tangerine. Go check out their blogs if you're not a follower already so I can return the favor. :)

I entered a few giveaways last week with lots of co-sponsors. I'm not one to follow blogs just for giveaway entries and then unfollow them after the contest ends. I know I would be disappointed if someone did that to me, so I make it a point to actually browse the blogs of each co-sponsor and see if I'd be interested in reading them every day. I was pleasantly surprised last week and found quite a few new blogs to follow, which I'd like to share with you here:

>> Postcards from Rachel: How had I not found this blog before?? It's a wonderful travel and lifestyle blog with beautiful photographs, and apparently several blogs I already enjoy reading (e.g. Treasure Tromp) are sponsors. I'm glad I finally found Rachel's little big corner of the Internet!

>> The Nectar Collective: This blog boasts the funniest post I have ever seen on my blog reader. I can't even describe it well enough to do it justice, so do me a favor and just read it here.

>> Rhyme & Ribbons: I visited Amanda's blog when I linked up for "Greek is Greek" on Friday, and I couldn't stop reading her posts! I creepily left her a ton of comments on old posts (like this one about her flying essentials), but I think this could be the beginning of a beautiful blogging friendship!

This section might not appear every week, but this is where I'll share recipes, crafts and other projects I've tried that week. The only thing I have to report for last week is this delicious potato side dish recipe I found on Pinterest. The only change I made was substituting the butter for olive oil, and I would definitely make it again! I also assembled and decorated a Target bookshelf for my office last week (see photo above), which I blogged about in detail here.

And that's it! So what do you think? Was this too much information? Are there other categories you'd like to see in addition to or instead of these? I'd love to hear your thoughts! And be sure to check back tomorrow for my Travel Tuesday post on my recent trip to Switzerland (plus a special announcement!) and link up with your travel-related posts!
