Happy Birthday, Book Chat!

Can you believe it has been a year since Jessica posted the first-ever Book Chat prompt on Sweet Green Tangerine?? I always thought I had been part of the link-up since the beginning, but when I went back to look at my old posts, I was sad to discover my first participation was actually for the second prompt. So today, I'm going to go back and participate in that very first link-up:

Favorite tragic couple: Chris & Emily | The Pact by Jodi Picoult (I feel really weird saying that considering how messed up the relationship—and entire storyline—is, but I think I am biased because this is one of my favorite books of all time.)

Favorite happily ever after couple: Ron & Hermione | Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling (Duh. I even love their don't-look-or-you'll-miss-it movie kiss.)

Favorite unrequited love couple: Marius & Eponine | Les Miserables by Victor Hugo (And yes, this is different from "tragic" couple. Is it weird how much more I enjoy sad love stories than happily ever after ones?)

Favorite historical fiction couple: Katherine of Aragon & Prince Arthur | The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory (Again, cue the waterworks.)

Favorite non-book fictional couple: Lily & Marshall | How I Met Your Mother (Enough said.)

You can see all my Book Chat posts from the past year here, and check out the other birthday link-ups over at Jessica's blog by clicking the button below:

I almost did this topic! I love all your couples but I'm definitely in the happily-ever-after camp...most of the time.

The Pact did permanent damage to my heart. lol I think I died a little bit reading that book.

And I love Lily & Marshal. LOL Great choices. Thanks for linking up. I'm glad that you have been a part of the book chat is past year. :)
