I've been meaning to join this link-up with the sweet Meghan of Shine On for weeks, and what better week to finally join than Thanksgiving itself?
First, I am mostly thankful for the friends and family I get to see this holiday:
As I was walking around the arena at a Bobcats game on Monday night, I heard someone call my name. I turned to my left, and who did I see but a long-lost ADPi sister! Kelly (top left) and I were roommates at my sorority's conference three years ago, and then roomed together again at Grand Convention when we were both chapter presidents in 2011. I was so ecstatic to see her again, especially so unexpectedly!
I also had a planned a get-together with one of my beautiful consultant sisters, Laura (top right). We had lunch in Charlotte yesterday afternoon, and it was wonderful to catch up and finally see one of my Sisters of the Suitcase after being separated since training ended in early August.
The boyfriend (bottom right, obviously haha) was able to come to my grandparents' house for Thanksgiving, which has been great! In fact, he's working on some schoolwork right now while I type this. It's just nice to spend time together, no matter what we're doing. :)
I'm also happy to see all my extended family, my siblings, my dad and—a little later this afternoon—my godparents, but I don't have pictures with them yet. Just wait until next week!
I'm also thankful for a myriad of other more material pleasures this week, including real sweet tea, finally having some time to read for pleasure, and college football! Did anyone else watch Kansas State and Oregon lose this weekend? All I have to say is: Go SEC! I'm also thankful I get to go to the University of Georgia vs. Georgia Tech game this weekend with my family and boyfriend!
Of course, I can't forget to be thankful for the plentiful food I've had (and will have) this week, clean water, a warm bed to sleep in and all the other things I take for granted that I know not everyone will have this Thanksgiving. I wish you all a blessed and happy Thanksgiving, wherever you may be and whomever you may be with!
What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos. This year I'm thankful for a lot of things, but mostly that an amazing man decided to love me. I'm very thankful for that.
