I picked up the book, read the first paragraph and was hooked. Here are a couple other books I've picked up and read recently based purely on the cover. Click on each cover to see my review on Goodreads:
And, of course, there are some just plain gorgeous book covers out there. Here are some of my favorite Pinterest finds:
Finally, I absolutely love Penguin's classic covers. How gorgeous are these?

I love pretty books! Those Penguin Classics are going to be on my wishlist from now on. How did you like The Time Traveler's Wife? I saw the movie, but haven't read the book yet.
ReplyDeleteI definitely judge a book by it's cover. I've really got to discover a library over here.. I'm dying without one!
ReplyDeleteLove those Penguin Classics... those are so going on my wish list haha
ReplyDeleteAll these covers are gorgeous. I am such a sucker for a good pic on the front.
ReplyDeleteI love a gorgeous cover! One of the reasons I still love, love, love a hard copy of a book and not just audio or digital versions. I really like the Ally Condie Matched trilogy covers too. And cookbook covers just have to have food on them to please me!
ReplyDeleteI'm OBSESSED with the Barnes and Noble Leatherbound classics!! I first saw one on Pinterest about a year ago, but I didn't realize they were from somewhere as accessible as B&N! My roomie just got the Edgar Allan Poe anthology, which has a creepy-cool cover, and on my Tech-Free Day I got 3 of the children's classics with pretty covers - The Secret Garden, A Little Princess, and Anne of Green Gables. They were only $10 each! The Complete Shakespeare Collection and Alice in Wonderland are next on my list. I've never seen the Penguin classic covers, and I like those, too! I think pretty books make reading even more of an indulgence :)
ReplyDeleteSince I'm a sucker for a cover, I do judge books by them when browsing sometimes. Going to check out your book board now! These are lovely.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I admit. I do judge books by their covers (sometimes). I picked up the curious incident novel just because of that. I remember discussing this topic in elementary school. "Do not judge a book by its cover", the librarian actually told us this. So, I pretty much always read the back of the book before I buy it! But, how can I resist a unique cover!?
ReplyDeleteThe Penguin classics are just gorgeous.
