25 points: Third book from the left on the fourth shelf from the top at my library. — The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini (371 pages)By the way, if you're still looking for a book to read in one day, I think The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a great option. It goes very quickly and has illustrations sprinkled throughout the book, so it doesn't seem like it's actually 226 pages.
15 points: Read a book that you've always wanted to read but haven't gotten around to yet. — The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Mark Haddon (226 pages)

Please update me on your progress in a comment on this post. I usually don't write the scoreboard post until Saturday, so as long as you check in by Friday I should have your most up-to-date score on the board. If you forget to check in one week, no worries! Just catch yourself up on the next week's check-in. If you just joined the challenge, welcome! Please feel free to include all books you've read since May 1 that were at least 200 pages long. You can review the full list of rules here. Good luck!
So I'm done. I finished all 4 books that I had to finish.
ReplyDelete10-read a book suppose to read in school- Wuthering Heights
10-memoir-if you ask me/Betty White

LOL... I forgot to add in Dante's Inferno's points (15) from last week.
ReplyDeleteSo I should be at 140. Will do a new post next Saturday with the full total including this week's books. I can apparently read, just don't make me do math!
I'm reading the second book in my trilogy series: 50 Shades Darker. It's definitely much better than the first book. I'm almost finished with it and I'm hoping to finish it sometime this week and start the third book. Sadly I still don't have any points :(
ReplyDeleteI finished the antonyms: The Girl Who Played With Fire and About a Boy, so I finally have 20 points!
ReplyDeleteI read three books in the past two weeks (I missed last week's check-in):

I'm still working on my "Bad" book (It's pretty rough-going), and I'm on the 2nd book of the Madd Addamm trilogy, so no points for this week.

15: Read a book in one calendar day. (Must be at least 150 pages long.) Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. I think it hit 300 pages, but it was still an interesting read.
ReplyDelete15: Read a book that you've always wanted to read but haven't gotten around to yet. The Stand by Stephen King. I FINALLY FINISHED THE STAND. Wow. It's 1,100 pages long.

Finished "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" by Ransom Riggs for a book set in a place I want to visit (the UK), and "Ender's Game" for a book I've always wanted to read. I moved Mindy's Kaling's book over to the memoir category for maximization of points!
I'm a good chunk into "Zeitoun" for the World Book Night category, and I'm loving it so far!
I have picked books and made a list on GoodReads, but not completed any reading. I thought I might do the 50 Shades for the trilogy, but couldn't get through the first book. Have a couple of memoirs picked out, so that may be the first I complete for the challenge.
ReplyDelete5: Read a book from the 2012 World Book Night list - A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick
ReplyDelete10: Read a book most people had to read in high school but you didn't - To Kill a Mockingbird
15: Read a book you've always wanted to but haven't yet - The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Yay! I did it!! Some of these were a breeze to get through and I forgot to put the World Book Night book on my list last week. :) Thanks for this...it was so much fun! Now I have to figure out what to read next!!
I'm so embarrassed. In my defense, my schedule is insane right now (as you can probably tell by my lack of blogging) I've tried reading before bed and pass out within five minutes. I"m planning on knocking out all of my points on vacation :)
ReplyDelete15 Points: read a book in one day- Crossed by Ally Condie
ReplyDeletePrevious Points:5
Total:20
ya, I'm still at just my lonely 10 pts from last week. I haven't even picked up a book this week, nor will I the rest of the week. We had a lot of family activities this first part of June. Hoping to "make a comeback" in the second part of June. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo apparently I'm not so good with blogs as I did try linking up with you, must not have worked! Oh well Here is my update:
